Future Thinking

Wills and Power of Attorney

It is essential to have Powers of Attorney in place to authorise trusted relatives to deal with your financial, personal and medical affairs in the event of an illness or accident rendering you unable to make these important decisions.

It is vital to have a properly drawn Will in place to ensure your wishes are clear and that your Estate can be properly administered in the best interests of your family in the event of your death.

There will be important tax and superannuation issues you need to consider when making a Will.

Good Succession Planning is important. Estates are getting larger and there are inevitably a range of complex interests and issues to balance and address properly. It is more important than ever to have access to good advice early.

Succession Planning for farming families has particular challenges and can often be difficult and sensitive. We are here to guide you.

Administering the Estate

We will establish the need to apply for a Grant of Probate, and also apply for a Grant of Probate of a Will following death. The Grant of Probate is a document issued by the Supreme Court of Victoria, authorising your Executors to deal with the administration of your Estate right through to distribution of the proceeds of your Estate amongst your beneficiaries.
